Problem
Before the dashboards existed, tracking contract status and workload across the team meant manually compiling data across spreadsheets. Management had no shared visibility into what was outstanding, and unclear scope of work made deadlines easy to miss.
Context & Data
The underlying data lived across multiple existing systems and spreadsheets, with no single place for management or the team to see current status, priorities, or what needed follow-up.
Approach
I built Power BI dashboards, shared through SharePoint, giving upper management and the team a single, current view of contracts, workloads, and outstanding actions. Alongside the dashboards, I automated the recurring data comparisons, reporting updates, and deadline reminders that had previously been done by hand.
Tools
Power BI for the dashboards, SharePoint for distribution, and Excel and Python for the data cleaning, consolidation, and automated comparisons behind them.
Analysis & Execution
Rather than a one-time report, the dashboards and automated comparisons ran on an ongoing basis — consolidating data sources and surfacing clear, concrete next steps so the team could act on current information instead of reconstructing it by hand every cycle.
Result
The automation saved the team dozens of hours of manual work a week, and gave management shared visibility into contract status and workload that hadn't existed before.
Learnings
Even routine, recurring work can hide real optimization opportunities — automating it freed up time for more meaningful work instead of reconstructing the same reports by hand every cycle.
